Khao Pra Teaw Forest and Wildlife Preserve covers 22.28 square kilometers of virgin forest, but trekking from end to end takes just 3 hours. Along the way you’ll see more than 100 species of birds, ranging in size from thumb-sized Flower peckers to majestic White-bellied Sea-Eagles, Blue-eared Kingfishers and Asian Paradise Flycatchers. You’ll find giant trees, Supported by huge buttresses, thick with creepers and climbers. This forest, its watercourses, and pools provide some of Phuket’s loveliest scenes.
More excellent birdwatching can be found at Bang Tak non-hunting areas, Ao Sapam, and Sirinath national park. Sightings are especially good in the mangroves with many resident and migratory birds.
Itinerary :
05:30 : Pick-up from your hotel, transfer to Baan Ya Moo to explore Watercock, Blue-winged Pitta, Yellow Bittern, Black Bittern, Cinnamon Bittern, Black Kite, Javan Pond-Heron, Grey-capped Woodpecker and other birds. Breakfast on the way to Ton Sai Waterfall.
07:40 : Transfer to TonSaiwaterfall, Start the second bird watching program, You’ll see Blue-winged Leafbird, Red-throasted Barbet, Blue-eared Barbet, Red-billed Malkoha, Chestnut-breasted Malkoha, Green-billed Malkoha, Asian Paradise Flycatcher, Black Baza, Crimson-winged Woodpecker, Banded Woodpecker, Black-backed Kingfisher and other birds.
09:30 : Coffee break.
10:00 : Start the second Program. (at Bang Tak non-hunting area)
13:00 : Lunch at Bang Pae Restaurant.
14:00 : Start afternoon Program in the Mangrove forest near Bang PaeRestaurant,you can see Brown-winged Kingfisher,RuddyKingfisher,Black-capped Kingfisher, Collared Kingfisher, CommonFlameback and other birds.
17:00 : End of the program and Transfer back to your hotel.
